Chatting to our offices it became quite clear that Stellenbosch offers not just one but two excellent trails that are perfect for enticing the winter-weary outdoors. The Jonkershoek / Assegaaibosch MTB Trail is quite possibly the best in SA and if you check out mtbroutes.co.za you will see why. “This MTB trail is situated in the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve close to the suburbs of Uniepark, Rozendal, Mostertsdrift (one of our suburbs of the day – view it on Instagram) and Karindal in Stellenbosch. To understand Jonkershoek you really have to appreciate that this is a commercial forest which is regularly harvested.
